1. Agreement to these Terms

5. User content

You retain ownership of the content you create, post, or upload to the Service ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant stryd a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that content solely as necessary to operate, provide, and promote the Service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content and represent that you have all rights necessary to share it and that it does not violate these Terms or any law. We may, but are not obliged to, review, monitor, remove, or restrict any content at our discretion, including content we believe violates these Terms.

6. Mentorship, networking, and user interactions

stryd is a neutral platform that helps students, mentors, and organisations connect. We are not a party to, and are not responsible for, any interaction, communication, mentorship, advice, arrangement, or relationship between users.

Any advice, guidance, or information shared by other users (including mentors) is their own and does not constitute professional, financial, legal, medical, or career advice from stryd. You interact with other users at your own risk and are responsible for conducting your own due diligence. stryd does not verify the identity, qualifications, statements, or background of users and makes no guarantee regarding any user, connection, mentorship, internship, job, or outcome.

7. Opportunities and third-party listings

The Service may display internships, jobs, volunteering, events, and other opportunities, which may be posted by third parties. stryd does not employ, endorse, guarantee, or take responsibility for any such opportunity, employer, or organisation, or for the accuracy of any listing.

Any application, engagement, offer, or arrangement is solely between you and the relevant third party. stryd is not responsible for any hiring decision, contract, payment, or dispute arising from them.

8. AI features

The Service may include AI-powered features, including an AI career advisor. AI-generated content is provided for general informational purposes only, may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and does not constitute professional, legal, financial, or career advice.

You should independently verify any information before relying on it. stryd is not liable for any decision you make or action you take based on AI-generated output.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, and other materials (excluding User Content), is owned by or licensed to stryd and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

10. Third-party services

The Service may link to or integrate third-party websites, products, or services (for example, sign-in providers and hosting providers). We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, their content, or their practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any content or connection will meet your expectations. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you use the Service at your own risk.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, stryd AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND PARTNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OPPORTUNITIES, OR ANTICIPATED SAVINGS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, ANY USER INTERACTION, OR ANY THIRD-PARTY CONTENT OR OPPORTUNITY.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY, OR (B) USD 100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless stryd and its affiliates and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your User Content, your interactions with other users, or your breach of these Terms or any law.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law, or to protect the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by posting a notice or updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
